Casey Boyle “attack/transition”

Casey Boyle

“attack/ transition” explores the relationship between individuals and their connection with space. Based on a childhood decision-making game, it challenges the dancers dynamic and rhythmic capabilities.

Learning is inherent to the process of choreography: a new work can only exist once it is learned. Aptitude asks, when then, in the process of choreography, does learning take place? The work challenges this question of “when” by fluxuating between choreographed phrases that were learned in the studio and improvisational sections that will be composed on stage.

Claudia Anata Hubiak “659 Days of Ruby and Mr. S”

Claudia Anata Hubiak

Claudia Anata Hubiak spent her young life as a competitive gymnast in Boulder, Colorado where she was a two-time Colorado state champion in 1995 and 1996. She received her BFA in Dance from the University of California at Santa Barbara and has recently graduated with her MFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Claudia was a founding member of Vispo Dance in San Francisco and has recently founded The Anata Project, please visit www.theanataproject.org for more information.

Igor Konyukhov “In the vicinity of Happiness”

“In the vicinity of Happiness” is a poetic dance about misunderstanding, loosing hope and crushing dreams. This work is set to the music of Antonio Vivaldi.

Allie Pfeffer “Meme”

Allie Pfeffer

Allie Pfeffer was raised in North Carolina where she trained at Piedmont Dance Conservatory under the direction of Rebecca Massey and Daniel Wiley. She has studied with North Carolina Dance Theater and attended workshops with Thang Dao Dance Company and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. During her time at Tisch, Allie has worked with Deborah Jowitt, Benoit-Swan Pouffer, and Sidra Bell. Allie has also performed at Danspace in St. Marks Church and The Ailey Citigroup Theater.

Phoebe Sandford “Trichotillomania”

This piece explores habits and mannerisms that come from anxiety, namely how anxiety manifests in our bodies. It follows a group of women who are driven by compulsion and can only find peace when they recognize their own compulsions in one another.

Russell Stuart Lilie “Don’t Try to Impress Me with Your Bravado; It’s Kitsch”

Russell Stuart Lilie

“Don’t Try to Impress Me with Your Bravado; It’s Kitsch” was created to explore the paradox of the trained dancer preforming a natural movement. It enforces a strict set of rules on the dancers while ultimately attempts to achieve an effortless and natural aesthetic.
