Following a sold-out run in France, celebrated Parisian director Irina Brookcontinues her father Peter’s legacy at La MaMa with Shakespeare’s Sister.  The piece is set at a fantasy dinner party where five women prepare the cuisine while singing, dancing and discussing their place in the world.  An amazing insight into women’s hearts and minds, moving, stimulating and sexy, an evening with five multifaceted performers that goes straight to the heart!

This New York premiere marks Irina Brook’s first time directing a fully produced play in New York. She has directed numerous works to acclaim worldwide: in Paris (where she was born and is based), Lausanne, Tokyo, Belgium, Holland and Italy, among other places.

Featuring: Winsome Brown, Joan Juliet Buck,  Nicole Ansari, Yibin Li & live music performed by Sadie Jemmett.
