When it Rains

When it Rains

January 10 – January 20, 2013

“When It Rains is extraordinary theater, wise and funny and human and profound, the best kind of drama, that excites and enlarges…Sometimes we get to make our luck, and here’s one of those times: there are five more performances at La MaMa this week, and if you are ready to be stirred up by something potent, elemental, and surprising, you ought to get to one of them.

Martin Denton,

A play in the form of a live-action existential graphic novel. When the improbable happens, two couples are beset with misfortune, communication fractures, relationships crumble, behavior becomes absurd. People sing, get naked, give up, lose control, have sex with strangers. Some kind of God intervenes. Or observes. Or something. Or nothing.

Darkly funny, heartbreaking, and visually arresting, When it Rains is an award winning  new production from internationally acclaimed writer/ director Anthony Black and one of Canada’s most heralded touring companies. 2b theatre company’s last visit to NYC was a run of the solo show Invisible Atom, at The Public Theatre as part of Under the Radar.
