A Workshop Presentation
Language Reversal is a new collaboration between US theater artist Aaron Landsman and Serbian collective Kulturanova, about resistance and translation, performed in two places at once. Language Reversal will be presented in-progress, with interactive live-feeds from artists and audiences in Novi Sad and New York through video technology and design by La MaMa's CultureHub.
This piece is about how we survive and translate our movements now and going forward. Highlights include: culturally specific jokes about fish; instructions for how to watch a bombing from the safety of your car, and how to scream without making a sound; a dance to the Yugoslav punk group Boye; and glimpses of resistance from each of our countries for the last four hundred years.
Ogemdi Ude, Jesse Koehler, Jelena Galovic and Uros Mladenovic
