Curated by Elise Gardella
Opening Reception: Friday, April 19th

Going beneath surface these two artists reveal and disrupt vast territories and explore apparent oppositions. Shanna Maurizi flips and inverts the idea of what is solid and what is ephemeral, what is the moment and what is the memory, and how they create each other. Corinne Spencer’s work is rooted in the black feminine body as it moves through space, seeping below time's surface to move inward. The body becomes the gateway to the universe and its mysteries.
