Sound Departures is a new music series featuring cross-disciplinary musicians who explore new genres and known music idioms. The series features upcoming and established musicians each evening that will share new work. Three shows – one weekend: Friday January 20 and Saturday January 21 10pm; Sunday January 22 at 6pm. Featured artists include:
Alt-folk songwriter Ziemba who will present LALA, a new sonic scenes from Ardis; Award-winning musicians and theatre makers Julia Sirna-Frest and Shane Chapman to perform Welcome to the Gun Show: A Chekhovian Song Cycle; Composer and musician Clint Borzoni to present male singers duets from his Queer Opera Antinous and Hadrian; Composer/electronicist Guy Barash’s new project Guy & the Graphics interpreting graphic scores; singer songwriter Gareth Hobbs who blends folk, rock, blues and electronica; musician of Sci-Fi folk songs Rags Parkland (alter ego of songwriter Andrew R. Butler).

Guy Barash's audio and video installation includes an audience participation element: You are encouraged to bring small instruments, toys and other noise-making devices.
