After an Earlier Incident (A Dyschronic Romeo & Juliet)
March 8 – March 17, 2013
”After an Earlier Incident” is a theatrical meditation using the myth of Romeo and Juliet as its touchstone. With contributions from playwright David Todd and director/designer Luke Leonard, Monk Parrots creates an east/west, archetypal performance exploring theatrical applications of the “hauntology” concept in popular music and art. Taking their cues from philosopher Jacques Derrida, hauntological or “hypnagogic” artists explore the past inside the present, searching for a way to move forward in order to become unstuck in history.
