What happens when society crumbles? A reminder to reflect of our past as we contemplate our ways forward. A show filled with music and poetry transformed into scenes, action and projections. Is there a ray of hope? Based on poetry by Pavlo Tychyna, by Serhiy Zhadan and songs from rock group Zhadan & the Dogs with poems by Bob Holman based on Zhadan's poetry and On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder.

Press for 1917-2017: Tychyna, Zhadan and The Dogs

"This magnificent performance encourages us to confront the ugliness with vigor and celebrate the beauty that human beings are capable of in the midst of tragedy and error. In our present climate of wall building and retrograde isolationism such artistic collaborations as Yara Arts Group has undertaken and La MaMa E.T.C. has supported for more than fifty years are to be valued as a boon." - Beate Hein Bennett, New York Theatre Wire
"The recitation of the verse is terrific, animated without being heavy-handed. The speakers, of course, recite in English, but they intersperse the verse with Ukrainian words, and the technique creates a lovely, ghostly suggestion of translation." - Steve Capra
