All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go
Bonnie Duncan, of The Gottabees, is stuck in a tiny box in her studio. All she can do is make a tiny piece of theater, to beam LIVE into your living room. Featuring: Puppets! Original silliness! A suitcase with a surprising number of things inside it! Theater games for you to play with your family!
Try This At Home is brought to you by The Gottabees -- a Boston-based ensemble that, for the last seven years,
has been happily making “super fun theater for the whole family.”
We know that, right now, you’re all spending a lot of time as a “whole family."
So, we're giving you a few moments out of your day where you can enjoy being together.
We're giving you an excuse to giggle, gasp, cheer and play together.
*All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go is part of The Gottabees’ Try This At Home virtual series*
"Timed for after school viewing!"

Puppets! Original music! A Tiny Bit of Acrobatics! Adventure and Invention! The Gottabees started making super fun theater for families in 2013 with the creation of Squirrel Stole My Underpants and it’s follow-up, Lollipops for Breakfast, in 2015. They have since been selling out venues and inspiring homemade puppet shows throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. They aim to inspire community, connection, and autonomy by providing an outlet for families to giggle, gasp, sigh, and cheer in forty-five minutes or less.
The Gottabees' stories reflect children's everyday aspirations, concerns, and emotional experiences. Their wordless approach to storytelling removes language barriers and activates different aspects of their audience's imagination. The result is a poetic, nonlinear story that surprises audiences.
One of the things that makes members of The Gottabees happiest is when they meet children who have seen a show and parents tell them how their child acted out the entire show for weeks after seeing it. This is the core reason why they make theater for young audiences: The Gottabees want children to know in their hearts that they, too, can make theater wherever they are and whomever they are.
La MaMa Kids
La MaMa Kids Online presents kids performances and hands-on workshops online, timed especially for “after school” viewing! La MaMa will continue to use emerging technologies to create a new venue for artistic expression that questions how art can function and how we as a society can survive challenging periods of history.
Online Happenings
Presented by La MaMa and CultureHub, La MaMa is exploring ways to respond creatively to a situation that is potentially changing how we gather as a community in our theatres. La MaMa is working with CultureHub to provide online streaming of select productions and events on Howlround Theatre Commons.
