CultureHub (Alien Exhibition by Seoul Arts Institute Interns)
We are all aliens living here.
The word ‘Alien’ refers to a stranger or extraterrestrial being. To a group of interns from SeoulArts who spent a semester in New York, the word ‘Alien’ came to signify the feeling of stepping out of a familiar environment and encountering a completely different world. Countless experiences of feeling different among many people, becoming like an alien in the process. Nevertheless, as individuals, we always exist. Like planets colliding, different worldviews and values intersect, traversing between inner and outer worlds, we undergo changes in identity and move forward on the journey toward becoming a complete individual.
This culminating exhibition by six students from the Seoul Institute of the Arts who were interns at CultureHub and La MaMa featured a short film, photography, and media art.
