Ring in the Lunar New Year with H.T. Chen & Dancers, presenting two signature works, Opening the Gate and Mott Street, celebrating the resilience and collective spirit of the Chinatown community.

H.T. Chen & Dancers is presenting two signature works celebrating the resilience and collective spirit of the Chinatown community. H.T. Chen’s Opening the Gate is a ritualistic journey of struggle, perseverance, and the eventual transcendence of the limitations of the ego and the material world. In the world we live in today, marked by uncertainty, upheaval, and persistent challenges, Opening the Gate reminds us that despite the darkness, there is always a path forward.  Excerpts from  Mott Street celebrate the resilience and collective spirit of the Chinatown community as we welcome the Lunar New Year of the Snake.  Choreography by H.T. Chen has received critical acclaim for its national and international tours, extended residencies in communities throughout the U.S., and award-winning educational programming.

Award winning choreographer H.T. Chen began his career at LaMaMa and went on to found Chen Dance Center in NYC.
