Kids Workshop: La MaMa Moves! Dance Workshop
Join dancers Katy Pyle and Jules Skloot, choreographers from the Ballez company.
This workshop invites kids to join us in our practice of radically re-imagining ballet as a welcoming space for all kinds of identities and bodies. We’ll practice witnessing and regarding each other with open hearted-ness and love while we practice the exercises of a traditional ballet class together, including barre, center, across the floor movements, and partnering!
The Ballez was created in 2011 with a community of performers interested in radically shifting issues of representation and narrative in dance.
La MaMa Kids
La MaMa Kids Online presents kids performances and hands-on workshops online, timed especially for “after school” viewing! La MaMa will continue to use emerging technologies to create a new venue for artistic expression that questions how art can function and how we as a society can survive challenging periods of history.
