Chix 6

Chix 6 is a modern pop/rock musical about a female comic book artist who learns to love herself and re-connect to her dreams when her own super heroine creations come to life. In collaboration with UNESCO, this production will connect  global “superheroes” to the NYC theater audience.

The musical is by writer and composer, Lourds Lane, who is also the founder and creator of an educational arts and music based non-profit called the SuperYou FUNdation (www. superyoufun.org). The curriculum teaches thousands of youth worldwide how to connect to their most empowered superhero selves. Thanks to the SuperYou FUNdation partnership with the United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (www.unesco.org), Chix 6 will be fusing music, art, and technology with the theater audience for a revolutionary theatrical experience that you won’t soon forget.

Inspired by the theme, “The Superhero is YOU,” from the transformative musical, “Chix 6,” the mission of the educational arts-based 501C3, the SuperYou FUNdation (with a capital “FUN”) is for youth to notice and celebrate the superhero qualities in themselves and others so that they feel inspired to positively impact their communities. Through writing, presenting, critical thinking, collaborating, music, performance, and art, students connect to their unique “superpowers.” Then, holding each other accountable as superheroes, and acting from the “do good” place of superhero empowerment, students collaborate on social good missions to help their communities.
