Since the election results on Tuesday, a lot of us are trying to figure out how to breathe through this present moment and looking for ways to keep connected to each other while we figure out what to do about our future. Care Café, is a way to address some of these things.

Care Cafe was conceived by Lois Weaver as a place – a real or virtual, public or domestic place for people to gather- their wits, thoughts and comrades in action. Lois is an artist whose work over the last few years has been about finding creative ways of using the familiar to get people to talk with and about the unfamiliar. Some of her formats include the Long Table, Porch Sittings and the Situation Room. In response to this painful moment, she is proposing the Care Café as new call to conversation

The first Care Café will be held at The Club at La Mama on Sunday November 13, 2016 from 4:30 -6:30.  The only thing on the program is care and small group conversation. So drop in anytime during these 2 hours and bring your thoughts, your strategies and your friends. And maybe some drink to share.

This real time Care Café at La Mama is a place for us to be in company with others, to express care for each other, to find ways care about the others on the other side of this great divide, to talk about the issues and to find some ways to act. Join us.

If you can’t come Sunday but want to make a Care Café of your own check out the Care Café Facebook Page.
