CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
La MaMa’s legendary 74 East 4th Street building has been transformed for generations of artists to come. Preserving its landmark exterior, a top-to-bottom interior renovation has created two intimate performance spaces, an enlarged lobby, ADA accessibility, and a building-wide data network. With this digital infrastructure, the artists’ work can now reach beyond the walls of the building to connect, create, and interact with artists and communities locally, nationally, and around the world.
Skyrocketing costs during the COVID pandemic caused our $19 million project to increase to $24 million. Although La MaMa has managed to raise additional funds, we still face a crippling $3.5 million shortfall.
SO MUCH IS POSSIBLE, BUT WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
PLEASE DONATE TODAY TO HELP US CLOSE THE GAP.
More than a theatre company, La MaMa is an artistic ecosystem that supports artists with free rehearsal and theater space, as well as administrative and marketing support. Here, artists are encouraged to take risks, imagine new forms, and ultimately shape how we think about and experience art. With artists connecting with new audiences and artists locally and globally at La MaMa, we envision the growth of a grassroots cultural movement that brings people together through art.
To be successful in these endeavors, we must raise $3.5 million. If you are interested in making a gift or naming one of our beautiful new spaces at 74 East 4th Street, please contact La MaMa’s Individual Giving Manager, Taylor Wood at [email protected].
